Sound art picnic in Schöppingen

At this year’s picnic in the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen, fellows will present works inspired by sound art. Among them are Aurélie Pertusot, Sophia Bauer as well as the Ukrainian artist Anna Melnykova, whose installation „Sound of the Universe“ combines sound and photography in a novel way.
The music play activities „Klangkanal“ and „Wassermusik“ by Michael Bradke are aimed at people from the age of 2 to old age and form an open-air musical landscape on the grounds of the Künstlerdorf. Drums, monster flutes, water instruments and tubular bells – sound art to touch and participate can be experienced by the whole family.
With the Mobile Music Workshop Münsterland, all generations can try their hand at making instruments from everyday materials and try out the instruments directly.
The Altenberge percussion quartet will provide sound refreshment in between with groovy pieces.
Picnic baskets will be available for sale, you are welcome to bring your own ingredients for the picnic!

Organizer: Landesmusikakademie NRW and Stiftung Künstlerdorf Schöppingen as part of the Münsterland-wide sound art festival Soundseeing.

SOUNDSEEING is a cooperative interdisciplinary sound art festival in the Münsterland region, which, with its interplay of exhibitions, concerts, performances and workshops of high artistic quality, offers viewers and listeners a unique sensory experience of sounds in space and thus attracts a large audience.
