Armeghan Taheri

Armeghan Taheri is a writer, artist and editor. She is the founder of „Afghan Punk“ – a multilingual community magazine that creatively connects struggles for liberation. She lives and works in Berlin.

In her texts, Armeghan Taheri works with continuities of violence, transformative approaches to justice, and the visualization of anti-colonial feminist liberation struggles. Through stories of intimacy, love, isolation and sex, she negotiates the consequences of political and social repression. With her words, she finds herself in the field of tension between emancipatory appeal and melancholic silence. Sometimes she is the knife, sometimes she is the wound. Her pen is indebted to all the murdered left-wing Afghan women poets and the women in her family. They saw that you can’t fix something that has a language, but by sewing it into your hands.
