Asja Schubert (* 1974 in Aachen) lives and works as a freelance artist with a focus on photography in Munich. She completed her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich (graduation as a master class student). Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany and abroad.

The central theme in Asja Schubert’s work is the contradicting relationship between man and nature. The focus of the project in Schöppingen was also on the interplay between the built and the grown, in particular on the use and „taming“ of natural elements. During Asja’s two-month fellowship, the series of photos entitled “Ort und Stelle” (“Place and Site”) was created from motifs in and around the rural community. A selection from these was shown in October 2021 in the exhibition hall of the Künstlerdorf.
