Camilo Pachón, Stiftung Künstlerdorf 2024

Christiane Rasch lives and works in Cologne and studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Karl Kneidl, A.R. Penck and David Rabinowitch. She came to sculpture by way of stage design, painting and graphics and today works mainly in sculpture, often site-specific. She has received numerous scholarships and regularly exhibits at home and abroad.

“Found objects or the found location play a major role in my sculptures and partly site-specific works. I am interested in putting something that has been made by man and whose material has changed overtime into a new context. The interfaces of the different materials, contrasts, color interventions and scales play a major role in this. I usually find the things I work with in my immediate surroundings or discover them along the way. I went on a search in the rural area of Schöppingen and, surprisingly, I came across different, exciting things than I would have in a big city.”
