Cyrill Lim (*1984 in Zug, Switzerkland) is an artist, composer-performer and sound artist based in Zug. His activities take him all over Europe. Projects he is involved in are located at the intersection between music and theatre, art and research, media installation and social environment. His examination of the aspects of perception and reflection of the used media leads mainly to performances and installation works that tries to experimentally gauge the physical qualities of space and material to offer a tangible experience on a musical level.

For the walk-through theatre installation Oxford Spacebase in the former Oxford Barracks in Gievenbeck, Cyrill Lim realised electroacoustic installations that dealt with the building’s long history. Due to the reconception of the area as a residential complex, the historical relevance of the barracks, built by the Nazis in 1934, is in danger of being forgotten.
Further east of Münster, in Bucharest, Romania, Atelier 35 was founded in 1962 by the Romanian Artists Union (Uniunea Artiștilor Plastici din România) as a space run by mainly young artists that offered remarkable liberal opportunities for experimentation and interdisciplinary approaches to develop exhibitions, performances, conferences, and other exploratory events. Together with art historian Daria Nedelcu, Cyrill Lim collected background information on Atelier 35 in Bucharest during his stay in Schöppingen, with the long-term goal of processing the collected information and presenting it in a series of experimental and participatory formats such as exhibitions, workshops, and performative events in or around Atelier 35 and its former locations in Bucharest.
