“The residency at Künstlerdorf Schöppingen gave me the opportunity to get back into my work after my maternity leave. The freedom I was given there allowed me to immerse myself in my work process and prepare for exhibitions that will take place later this year in Cologne and Münster. In the beautiful exhibition hall, which I was able to use as a studio, I continued my work with textiles. The word Halten (to hold), with all its possible prepositions (hold out, hold on etc.) served as a productive starting point for my work. I also took the opportunity to use the ceramic kiln in the workshop and produced my first clay works. I really appreciated and enjoyed the openness with which we all met. It was great to get to know and appreciate so many people from different contexts and backgrounds. I also really enjoyed the openness of the staff at Künstlerdorf, which made a lot of things possible and easy to implement.”
