Sebastian Chebo Roitter Pavez (*1988, Argentinia) is a visual artist, designer, and writer based in Buenos Aires. Since 2017 he has co-directed a publishing project called Bucle Editorial. His work focuses on apocryphal traditions, fake documentaries, oral traditions, forgotten legends, and institutional critique that he combines to assemble new narratives. He manipulates and creates images to question the mechanisms of the construction of “Truth” and invites new conversations around the management of cultural heritage, the function of art in public spaces, and the cultural necessities of the different communities.

During the stance of his residency, he worked on his ongoing and soon-to-be-published research about the Totemic Association in a series of visual pieces and texts. The book is a prequel of “I Am Not Here. Premonitions of a Nomadic Art” in which he contrasted Monumentalism with the archaic practices of making totems as two different strategies for public art.
