Lena Schätte, writer and literary promoter, born in 1993, made her debut in 2014 with Marlon Verlag. She worked as a psychiatric nurse in the Ruhr area until she began her studies at the German Literature Institute Leipzig in 2020. In 2025, her book “Das Schwarz an den Händen meines Vaters” (The Black on My Father’s Hands) was published by S. Fischer Verlag. It is a novel about alcoholism in the family system and growing up in the working class. It was awarded the Wg.G.Sebald Literature Prize and was longlisted for the German Book Prize in 2025. She was a scholarship holder of the Klagenfurt Literature Course, the Berlin Senate, and the Roger Willemsen Foundation.
