* Being born and raised in Colombia compels you to intone your voice in a continuous race for survival and representation. The conflict’s dynamic has shaped us to search for meaning. It even enforces us to intone histrionic voices which often require a sense of humor and a notion of adventure.
I’m a visual artist, filmmaker and editor. Therefore, I see my practice as a multidisciplinary dialogue between expanded cinema, research and editorial production. During the last 8 years, in my work, I’ve addressed searches and concerns about the aesthetic gestures that are formed within the great political, historical, natural and even emotional ecosystems where different readings of Latin American landscapes and conflicts converge.
I insist on mixed and multimedia formats derived from visual, oral, and written narrative because I believe that each one allows me a more personal and honest approach to cinema. In this separation of elements: visual, sound, graphic and media, I try to generate an expanded experience in different scales and visual formats.

“La suma de todos los árboles juntos” ‚THE SUM OF ALL THE TREES TOGETHER‘ became an installation of experiences and processes around the camp and the collective providing a safe space for transition and rest. Like time holding still forever. This immersive piece concluded with the production of several pieces to create a unique scenography: a camp on freedom, a camp to rest, meditate and contemplate landscapes. I decided to create a collective session to make a kite, a collective flag, a tent or shelter. Finally, I made a ceramic swan imitating the local tradition of placing fake animals outside the garden as guardians of the fake landscape. While sharing our ideas or inventions for the future in the face of war, clinic anxiety and climate crisis, I cooked for the fellows that were part of this protection since the beginning. Outside everything the trees, the sum of all of them, holde the fine lines of the shelter I wanted to create. An observatory of the future.
