Sophia Bauer (*1987 in Munich, Germany) received a bachelor’s degree in African languages, literature and art from the University of Bayreuth and a diploma from the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne. Since 2019, she lives and works as a freelance artist in Cologne and Nairobi.

Her latest fascination is the sound of breathing. In Schöppingen, she has begun to explore the social and political aspects of this sonic marker. The relational aspect of hearing and listening in connection with the sound of breathing makes her think about meaningful forms of living together and community.
