Alke Reeh studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Prof. Klaus Rinke. She had various exhibitions and received scholarships in Germany and abroad.

During her stay in Schöppingen, Alke Reeh designed an extensive installation in the exhibition hall of the Künstlerdorf. In this she played with the viewer’s perception. From an initially compact bundle of textile, a body that extends into space was created during the process of unfolding. This enclosed the room, separated it into inside and outside, in front of and behind. The result was a network of interpenetrating levels. The eye explores complex rhythms by touching the surface again and again, storing what has just been perceived and tracing possible principles of order. Obvious laws bore you, and things that are too complicated lead to resignation.
