Camilo Pachón (*1985 in Bogotá) is a multidisciplinary artist who explores the ritual, political, spiritual and transformative dimensions of the mask as an ever-present cultural artifact. His work uses the ancestral technology of mask-making to open doors for identity shifts, the exploration of agency, freedom, sexuality and the relationship between body and nature. His work is socially engaged and spans a wide range of mediums and formats, from photography and film, to performance and installation.

In Schöppingen, Camilo Pachón explored his relationship with the landscape in autumn and the journey of self-protection of the trees inward. The process of detachment with the falling leaves and the bare structures of the trees were the starting point for experimentation with the internal structures of his works. He also continued his forthgoing project Carnaval Digital in which he involved the local carnival association NSKKV. The aim of the project is to create a platform that connects carnival practices from around the world in a space that serves as an interface between virtual and analog forms of masquerade. Carnival is understood here as a collective moment, as an opportunity for social connections and thoughts, in a state subject to the rules of social distancing . Camilo also collaborated on the opera “Akasha” with composer Wingel Mendoza and presented the duo exhibition “I ́ve got you under my skin” together with Anisia Affek.
