In the form of a dramatic text, the project “Alle Andere Namen Stimmen” (All Other Names Voices) deals with the transmission and negotiation of war memories, in this case of the Second World War, across generations: how to move between narrative and silence, real events and subjective perception? How to deal with voids, contradictions and resistances, with the friction between family relationship and historical reference? Where to position oneself on the spectrum from complicity to criticism? The successive unmasking of the constructedness and instability of a family narrative can also be understood as exemplary for a society, its collective memory and historiography.
